Why You Are Beautiful…Just As You Are

Can we get real here, friends?

One of the reasons I became a boudoir photographer is that I wanted women just like you to see just how freaking amazing you are.  I wanted you to look beyond what you see in the mirror and see what I see from the camera.

I wanted you to see that no matter your shape, size, skin color…you deserve to be celebrated for the badass you are.

I’ve photographed women of all shapes and sizes…women of color, women who have undergone incredible struggle and trauma, women who are cancer survivors, women who love other women, women with children, women without children…

…and I can tell you one simple fact:

Every woman on this planet is

Stunning.  

Ravishing. 

Breath-taking.

Worthy of love, adoration, and respect.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day campaign is #BreakTheBias – a call to end gender inequality, a call to create a world where, among other things, “difference is valued and celebrated.” 

So in honor of International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month, and every woman on this planet, I want to #BreakTheBias.

I want to dispel the asinine notion that certain “types” of women are better/prettier/sexier than others.

Because it’s bullshit.

YOU ARE GORGEOUS.  YOU ARE STUNNING.  YOU ARE SEXY.  AND YOU DESERVE TO BE CELEBRATED EXACTLY AS YOU ARE.

So today, I am sharing some of the gorgeous photos from our EveryBODY Is Beautiful group shoot from last summer.  

Twelve women, all different shapes, sizes, ethnicities, ages…who came together to celebrate each other and themselves (and to have some much-needed girl time and fun!)

The world throws enough crap at us as women – we don’t need to throw it at each other or at ourselves!

Instead, let’s lift each other up, cheer each other on, and tell each other what beautiful badasses we really are!
